"Care is a principle, not just a sub-sector of the economy, not something that we wave around to try and claim the moral high ground for, but a principle. And the basis of that principle is restorative."—@ProfTimJackson

What happens when the story of progress no longer rings true?
What happens when the future becomes something our society tries to distract people from, rather than inspire people with?
What if honest hope, is about accepting what us humans do have agency over, and what we don't?
What if we need to step off the political pedestal to accept what our society can't control...

The UCPH Degrowth Network & Degrowth CPH are co-organizing a session at the Wellbeing Economy conference 30/5 at 14:00 in Copenhagen, Denmark, on "Mobilizing academia for just postgrowth futures".

We'll explore how academics are helping to bring about major transformations in society, in ways that go beyond the conventional realm of the academe. Research is critical, but so too is the mobilization of power wielded by academia today in the struggle to push power holders in spheres of decision-making. In other words, in pursuit of a just green transition, academics can and must do much more than just research. What opportunities exist in our part of the world for academics to instigate just and democratic pathways that support the wellbeing of all? We’ll collectively explore this question with the audience and several scholars from DK/SE universities also active in social movements aligned with de-/post-growth futures.

Everyone is welcome, as long as you sing up!
