TomI put the oxalic acid pads in the hives today. Each hive gets 50 grams of oxalic acid that is mixed with 50 grams of glycerin. This Is My GlasgowA colony of mining bees at Hogganfield Loch in the east of Gladgow. These solitary bees dig nests into sandy soil, creating these distinctive piles of excavated sand on the surface. Colin PurringtonHere's the observation panel tucked into its bay. The protruding screw is so that I can easily pull it out to check on inhabitants. I check daily during the summer and sometimes can snag pics of interesting phases of wasp and bee nest-provisioning. E.g., the egg of a grass-carrying wasp deposited on a paralyzed tree cricket.
