It's okay to feel empty. It's okay to feel like I'm missing out on everything that other people have that I don't. It's okay to feel depressed or bored because other people's lives seem better than mine. It's okay to feel powerless in the face of others' expectations and to feel upset and heartbroken that I can't achieve happiness like they do. #Vent #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters #YouAreNotAlone #ItsOkayToStruggle #SelfCompassion #EmotionalHealing #BeKindToYourself
“I can’t get enough of how much fun we have together”
-Kind words said to me by someone so important.
Don’t mind me. Just putting a little reminder to myself out into the ether. For the days the darkness is on the horizon.
DONE WITH NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS
Tired of the pressure to radically transform every January? Same. This year, I’m embracing gentle tweaks instead of punishing goals. No “new you” needed - just kind, patient progress.
My new perspective: https://carasutra.com/2025/01/new-year-2025-out-with-new-in-with-gently-adjusted-familiarity/
Today’s recommendation is you
You are a valid human being worthy of love and respect. Give yourself some care and appriciation.
What if we all spent one hour today doing something for no one else but ourselves? Not for work, not for social media, not for validation... Just for YOU.
It could be anything: reading, painting, walking in nature, or just being still.
I challenge you to take that hour. Share what you do if you feel like it.
This is a reminder to take care of yourselves and to tune out the voice in your head that demands you push yourself past your limits to Get Things Done.
Nothing is worth your well-being, your health, or your life. Not work, not friends, not games, not even family -- nothing in this world.
If you don't take care of you, then how do you expect to be able to take care of others?

Big fan of Gentler Streak as a fitness pacing tool, especially with the additional stats that my apple watch can track, like heartrate variability as a function of stress, so I can be pushed when I'm resting too much and told to slow down when I'm pushing myself too hard
@queerfemmedyke The trick is to try again, and kindly forgive yourself that it didn't went perfectly the last time. #BeKindToYourself . Eventually, it catches on.
Also, pay attention to the structure of the tasks on your list. Some of them might merit pre-structuring. Some ways of structuring tasks work better than others. This might not carry over to autism in a neat way, but for ADHD, I like to isolate everything that requires executive function, and divide the rest into small, atomic, hard-to-distract-from items thatI can individually check off so I don't have to go back to them. Some trial and error would probably be a good idea.
Sometimes I need this reminder
"Some days you'll move mountains, other days you'll move from the bed to the couch. Both are necessary."

Things to remember:
-It's okay to be selective
-Your purpose in life is not to please others
-It's okay to unfollow accounts that make you feel bad about yourself
-Be gentle and kind to yourself
-If you need to cry, embrace it
-You don't have to be so hard on yourself
-Being busy 24/7 is not a flex. It is not a badge of honor

I shall be enjoying myself this weekend, because I occasionally need some time out.
The mole: "one of the kindest things you can do is be gentle and patient with yourself. "
Things you should never feel guilty for.
I haven't art-journaled in ages, but I thought I could do with the peptalk.
Imposter syndrome is a thing, folks.

It's ok to do next to nothing for Christmas. It's ok just to watch some trash TV or sit in the bathtub or order pizza. (Or all of the above!)
You can make it a nice day for you. There aren't enough nice days just for you anyway.
Just because folks around you want to make a big deal of the day, doesn't mean you have to as well. You can make it a little deal and just let them enjoy it in their own way too.
