The Bayeux Tapestry is headed to the UK for the first time in nearly 1,000 years.

The treasured 11th-century artwork will be on loan from France.

The 70-metre tapestry showing the Norman conquest of England in 1066 will go on display at the British Museum from September 2026 to July 2027.

Medieval toilet reveals lost palace of England’s last Anglo-Saxon king

A team of archaeologists has discovered what they believe to be Harold Godwinson, the last Saxon king of England’s, long-lost residence. Their research suggests a house in Bosham, in West Sussex, sits atop the remains of Harold’s one-time grand estate, famously portrayed in the Bayeux Tapestry.

It's a sign that I'm fairly local that I mostly read this article about archaeologists thinking they've identified a location represented on the Bayeux Tapestry as being from Bosham that I mostly thought to myself "Yeah, but how many people reading this don't know how to pronounce Bosham properly?"
