AdrianCommemoration of the Canadian casualties in the Battle of the Atlantic (1939-1945), in Ottawa. Over 4,500 Canadians died during this battle. In Canada, this commemoration takes place on the first Sunday in May, which in 2025 happened to coincide with Dutch remembrance day on May 4th -- the two minutes of national silence at 08:00pm throughout The Netherlands. The Canadian forces played a pivotal role in the liberation of The Netherlands in 1945.
