Looking at the 10-liners that were entered, I am more convinced that

A) FastBasic is too modern , it's just an assembly loader. UGBasic seems OK?

B) I should be able to get my Atari PM sprite demo whipped into a game next year, it just takes some creative rewriting.

C) If nothing else, go back to my char graphics games, which are cheap but can be fun.

D) Snail Race may be the best game ever on C-64. Barcode Battle may be the best game ever on Spectrum.

We spent the downtime at VCF East trying to get the COMX-35 to completely* fill the screen with randomly-placed asterisks. This was somewhat hampered by us having no COMX BASIC manual. We thought it couldn't be done ...

Thanks to the amazing Emma 02 emulator, it turns out it's possible and we were doing it wrong. We had no manual, though
