you know, i love #Attenborough. only person alive i can think of who should get a state funeral when the time comes.

but

i can never forgive him for bringing #snooker to television like it's a real spectator sport, just because he was desperate for content that needed to be colour when he launched #bbc2. we're still paying the price, the monster squatting over the schedules for the next fortnight, and bound to overrun programmes I want even so.

📺 Now on #BBC2
'Arena' - #BobDylan

Watching Elkie Brooks at the BBC, post lockdown Elkie Brooks was the first gig I attended (easing back in to attending gigs gently). BBCBBC Two - Elkie Brooks at the BBCTo mark her 80th birthday, Elkie Brooks looks back on some of her performances at the BBC.

Watched the first 5 minutes of #Newsnight on #BBC2 tonight. It came on after the Apprentice Your Fired so thought I would see what it was like. Not saying it's bad but it made Your Fired look like thoughtful quality programming. The new format seems to be all pace and screw depth or insight.

Watching the #BBC2 "Solar System" presented by Prof. Brian Cox #BrianCox and in this last episode about Strange Worlds, Brian Cox was discussing the rings of Saturn. As a nice touch when referring to the tracks on a vinyl disk the album he was holding was by the group #Dare on which Brian himself was the keyboardist at that time. The title track was "Sound of Silence" ... #Astronomy #cassini #planets
