Shannon Eichorn<p>There. I've seen it. I can speak intelligently about it. Blue Avatar continues to be one of my least favorite franchises. Sense of wonder spoiled by its utter lack of faith in humanity. <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/DreamBigger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DreamBigger</span></a></p>
Shannon Eichorn<p>Kudos to the Reef People for using a sign language. <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a></p>
Shannon Eichorn<p>Zero hearing protection, flying on rotorcraft with their avatar heads poking out. The antagonist team is going to lose their hearing by the end of the film. <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a></p>
Shannon Eichorn<p>Humanity in <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a> is invasive, destructive, inconsiderate, and selfish, except for our few protagonists. It's not a terrible reflection of our society as it stands now, but they had the chance to build a better future for your fictional world and model it for today's audiences. And they blew it.</p>
Shannon Eichorn<p>I had the honor of listening to professional book reviewer Paul Goat Allen talk last week about how Golden Age scifi looked ahead to a bright future, and recent scifi doesn't really. (Hopepunk/solarpunk notwithstanding, I assume.) <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a> is a great example.</p>
Shannon Eichorn<p>I am so sick of near-future space exploration/colonization in which exploration is the problem and humans are utter ducks about it. <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/IntentionalTypos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>IntentionalTypos</span></a></p>
Shannon Eichorn<p>Now that I've graduated, I have time to watch <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a> , and I have thoughts. (Thread)</p>
🏳️‍🌈Matt🇬🇧<p>Loved <a href="https://mastodon.lol/tags/avatarwayofthewater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>avatarwayofthewater</span></a> - and I’m pleased to say my bladder held up very well! </p><p>Very poignant film in places. Reminds me just how much humans suck, just as the first film did!</p>
cinnamini ♾️ pew pew<p>one of the main reasons I couldn't get through the first one. there were way too many problems with it. i don't understand the hype and love for this series<br><a href="https://theres.life/tags/avatar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>avatar</span></a> <a href="https://theres.life/tags/wayofthewater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wayofthewater</span></a> <a href="https://theres.life/tags/avatarwayofthewater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>avatarwayofthewater</span></a> <br><a href="https://mobile.twitter.com/deadroxy/status/1604185129479544832" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">mobile.twitter.com/deadroxy/st</span><span class="invisible">atus/1604185129479544832</span></a></p>
Baz Greenland<p>Watched <a href="https://bbq.snoot.com/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a> in 4DX today. Looked beautiful and the underwater stuff was impressive. Like the first one, a bit thin on the story, but was another fun cinema experience</p>
SoonLeeNZ<p>Friendly advice: If you are planning to see the new Avatar movie, have yourself a comfort stop and go before you, uh, go. It is a very long movie with many splashy water scenes. <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/AvatarWayOfTheWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AvatarWayOfTheWater</span></a></p>
marymessall<p>My take on <a href="https://mendeddrum.org/tags/Avatar2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Avatar2</span></a>: this is 3 different movies, one after the other. The first part is a shoot 'em up military SF movie. That's followed by a joyful art film about the ocean, &amp; then it turns into a disaster movie, basically "The Poseidon Adventure." I liked the middle part best because it's gorgeous. But the end was fun too (I really like the Poseidon Adventure.) First ~1 hr could be cut entirely. Long boring battle scene with no real stakes. <a href="https://mendeddrum.org/tags/avatarwayofthewater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>avatarwayofthewater</span></a> <a href="https://mendeddrum.org/tags/avatarthewayofthewater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>avatarthewayofthewater</span></a> <a href="https://mendeddrum.org/tags/avatar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>avatar</span></a></p>
