#audioEngineering hack: bring a laser distance meter if you're doing a gig in an enclosed space. Measure the distance between walls, between floor and ceiling, and between speakers and walls/floor.

Take the measurements in meters (i.e. 3.2m).

Divide 343 (speed of sound in m/s) by each measurement.

These are your candidates for standing wave frequencies (i.e. 343m/s / 3.2m = ~107Hz), which you can try to remove to reduce reverb and feedback.

Sad news for the #eurovision :eurovision_heart_2025: Grand Final:

My local broadcaster reached out again and told me that the bad audio mix is (at least partly) due to EBU rules. Specifically, the LFE channel isn't allowed to be used in competing songs.

This must be a new rule, since my #ESC2024 :eurovision_heart_2024: recording has full 5.1 audio, even during the acts. Sounds much better in comparison, in my opinion.

I again recommend reaching out to your broadcaster to get that changed at the EBU level for next year. :boosts_encouraged:

This plugin is flippin' brilliant. It does that modal resonator/synthesis thing that Ableton producers are hot for these days. I'm demoing it rn to add a little zhuzh to a vocoder, and... take my money.

Plus, it's native on #Linux. Easiest install ever for this Linux newbie here.

blepfxprismaprisma is an FFT based 3-in-1 plugin. It's a pitch shifter that works even on polyphonic audio sources, a formant shifter, and a pitch quantizer.
