Blurry Bits PhotographyA still shot from last night's star trails video. You can find those over on my Masto, and Peertube accounts.<br> <br> Was really fun finally getting this, had a failed one the night previous, so I'm thinking this is pretty decent given the area.<br> Really look forward to trying this out in the mountains, or the coast sometime 😊<br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/StarTrails?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#StarTrails</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/Astrphotography?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Astrphotography</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/GoPro?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#GoPro</a>

I am aware that photographing during a full moon in the well lit suburbs is not the purist Astro thing but I like to see what I can get under the circumstances. Plus I don't have a pedigree in Astrophotography, I'm just someone with a smart telescope having fun.</p><p>It was getting towards bed time so only a hundred frames, no filters. Little bit of Snapseed and I think NGC 2997 Spiral Galaxy in Antlia didn't put up too bad a show. Originally I thought it was the Southern Pinwheel, but I misremembered.</p>
Stephen Shankland<p>Second update: Clouds cleared so I took some more photos. This one is definitely a Perseid meteor. Alas, right at the edge of the frame, and teensy, and my focus was off, and it&#39;s marred by clouds, but I&#39;ll take it.<br /><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Perseid" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Perseid</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Meteor" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Meteor</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Astrphotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Astrphotography</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Photography</span></a></p>
Jordan Martin<p>Markarian’s Chain is a string of galaxies located towards the center of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster. Markarian’s Chain contains at least 7 different galaxy members that appear to move coherently: notably 2 huge, bright lenticular galaxies known as M84 and M86. This shot was taken on March 24th from Picacho Peak State Park in Picacho, AZ. <a href="https://sporadically.social/tags/astrphotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>astrphotography</span></a> <a href="https://sporadically.social/tags/zwoam5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>zwoam5</span></a> <a href="https://sporadically.social/tags/astro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>astro</span></a>-tech <a href="https://sporadically.social/tags/zwo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>zwo</span></a> <a href="https://sporadically.social/tags/asi294mm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>asi294mm</span></a> <a href="https://sporadically.social/tags/MarkariansChain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MarkariansChain</span></a></p>

Tino Heuberger<p>Might be getting some decent weather next week for astronomy (finally!) Going to try a mosaic on Messier 81 and 82. </p><p>Last time I imaged these galaxies was 5 years ago when I only had my Canon 7D Mark II. This will be the first time imaging these iconic galaxies with a monochrome astrophotography camera. </p><p>How much does Ha increase the nebulosity strcutures inside the galaxies? Is it worth dedicating some time to it?</p><p><a href="https://mastodontech.de/tags/astrphotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>astrphotography</span></a> <a href="https://mastodontech.de/tags/astronomy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>astronomy</span></a></p>
