Die #Esa hat den #AsteroidDay am letzten Sonntag zum Anlass genommen, um ein schönes Video mit 10 Impaktkratern auf der Erde vom All aus gesehen zu machen. Europa ist in dem Video mit der Siljan-Struktur in Schweden und dem Nördlinger Ries in Deutschland vertreten.
Im Nördlinger Ries haben übrigens Apolloastronauten das Erkennen von Impaktgesteinen trainiert.

Asteroid Day is held on June 30, the anniversary of the Tunguska event in 1908 when a meteor air burst leveled about 2,150 sq km of forest in Siberia.
The stony asteroid about 50–60 m in size exploded at an altitude of 5 to 10 km. Estimates of its energy range from 3–30 megatons of TNT.
BTW, asteroid 2024 MK which flew past Earth yesterday at a distance of 290,000 km was 120 - 260 m in size
