An old #poster of mine glued on one of the busiest streets in western #Rome, via Ostiense.
The title of the work is "L'orrore". which in Italian means "the horror". It is the phrase that Kurtz (a character from Conrad's novel #Heart of #Darkness) pronounces when he is about to die.

#ApocalypseNow was the next film recommended to me. This is a story of a Black Ops soldier told to neutralize a target by any means, during the Vietnam War. Apparently it's loosely based on the #book Heart of Darkness. The theme is "horrors of war" and the film does depict that, and very well too. It was just the most boring 2.5 hours I have ever sat through. I sure wouldn't want to watch the REDUX version, which adds another hour. I've seen the theme depicted better else where. 
There are #films that are both overwhelming & almost unbearable at the same time.
Carpenter's #TheThing is one of them, as is the #Korean masterpiece #Parasite & now #ApocalypseNow. #Movies that move me & make me want to take a break or start again!

Heute Abend werde ich zum ersten Mal #DerPate im Kino mit O-Ton sehen. Freu mich! 
Mir ist nun aufgefallen, dass ich noch keinen einzigen Film von Francis Ford Coppola gesehen habe. 
Back in the World (Miami Vice, 1985) references Vietnam War epic Apocalypse Now. The cast includes Watergate burglary mastermind G. Gordon Liddy and Iman, the Somali supermodel and actress who later married David Bowie.
