Trump imposed tariffs on an uninhabited island near Antarctica this week.

Apparently, Trump feels the import of the lower priced penguin shit is unfair to penguin shit farmers here in America.

He went on to say: ‘those penguins have been ripping us off for years’.

"Altogether, the team collected a staggering 82 million individual points of data, revealing the benighted depths below that colossal sheet of ice in remarkable detail... The map lets us perceive the continent as it was about 35 million years ago. Then, it would have been free of ice sheets & instead speckled with patches of tundra & swaths of lush coniferous forests. Now all that land is covered by 6.5 million cubic miles of ice."

When we go to other worlds, somebody will have the dubious honour of committing the first sexual assault in Orbit, & then the first murder on Mars, etc....because Humans will be Humans apparently.

You would think, with the vast majesty of the empty continent of Antarctica men might stop thinking about getting their dicks wet, but no.

Don't let them of with some "Antarctic psychosis" bollocks, it's nothing more exotic than Patriarchy

The Guardian · Psychologists in touch with Antarctic base after assault allegation, South Africa confirmsBy Oliver Holmes

The strain of bird flu H5N1 has now been found in Antartica. It is spreading across the peninsula meaning that Penguin and Skuas are in danger. This form of bird flu has been circulating across Europe, Asia and Africa causing devastation to both wild and captive birds since 2020. It is hope that this is not replicated in Antartica.

https://www.tiempo.com/ram/nuevo-iceberg-antartico-a-84-aleja.html

If all of Antartica's ice sheet melted, the isostatic rebound of the continent (since the ice sheet does/did make a pressure on it) could sink the other continents by more that 11 meters. In addition to the sea level rise.

Losing #krill would send shockwaves through the #ecosystem—and beyond.
Here’s why: They’re not just essential food for #whales, #seals, and #penguins. They’re key to our climate. When wildlife feeds on krill, they help transfer carbon to the deep ocean, playing a vital role in stabilizing the climate.
👉 Overfishing krill threatens this balance. Protecting them means protecting life on Earth. 🌏

As usual Matt Farrell provided us not only with this video... but also with a load of references and other channels on the subject. Huge Thanks for that.

"Doomsday Glacier collapse! Time for MORE human intervention??" [13:14 min]

Antarctica is collapsing! BUT it's a game of two halves. East Antarctica is pretty solid but the West Antarctic ice sheet is perched precariously on islands and held back by huge glaciers the size of small countries. Those glaciers are rapidly giving way, and when they go, we've got a problem! Some scientists reckon we should radically intervene. But are they right?"
