#Dartmoor National Park was the only place in England with the right to #WildCamp.

This right was lost when one of Dartmoor’s landowners – the hedge fund manager and Conservative party donor #AlexanderDarwall – brought a high court case removing that right.

This film shows one of the UK’s largest ever protests over public use of the countryside and wild campers on Dartmoor as they seek to appeal against the court’s decision and extend the #RightToRoam with new laws.

Disappointing:
The right to wild camp on #Dartmoor has been overturned after a court case brought to the high court by a wealthy landowner (& former Tory & UKIP donor) #AlexanderDarwall.
Nowhere in England now permits #wildcamping - unlike Scotland.

This legal judgement could be interpreted to mean that any activity not explicitly permitted in law may be challenged by landowners such as hedge fund manager #AlexanderDarwall.

#WildCamping is clearly a recreational activity, and I would hope that a legal appeal will seal the right.

A multi millionaire banker called is attempting to block wild camping, and open access, on , by challenging our legal right to do so.

Dartmoor is somewhere I go to get some valuable headspace, & to challenge myself physically. I'm also fascinated by the millennia of archaeological remains, and who wouldn't want to see the sun go down on a vista like this?

There are rallies today in Princetown and London, and there will be more to come, I feel sure.
