I need some help! I’m in a local justice group that needs some education on adoption and how it relates to social justice. Any one have good articles talking about this intersection? The group is not opposed to adoption being bad but I don’t think I can start from a personal place. Any kinks would be greatly appreciated!

As I take more steps into reunion I find myself thinking “is this the last time I will hear from them?” “I better be very thoughtful on what I say to this person it might be the last thing I say to them.”

I’ve been thinking about this not just with some of my biofamily but almost anyone I talk to. It’s kind of exhausting

Yesterday at the hospital a radiographic tech told me all about how all adoptees can access their entire families medical history. 🤷🏻‍♀️ She knows because she knows someone that was adopted “which is really cool”.🙄

Do not argue w/ ppl about their own lived experience.
👉 Every adoption begins w/ loss. EVERY ONE. No baby/child becomes available for adoption w/o being legally & irrevocably severed from its mother, father, entire extended family (including siblings), identity, ancestry, heritage. Those losses are profound, & no matter what comes after, THERE'S NOTHING BEAUTIFUL ABOUT LOSING ONE'S FAMILY. Stop dismissing our grief. Stop silencing our voices. STOP. 6/6
