It occurs to me, is there a Fediverse equivalent of LinkedIn? If not, why not? Personally I loathe LinkedIn and hardly ever visit the site unless I *have* to.

LinkedIn's only goal is to exploit people.
It's anathema to the purpose of the Fediverse. You might try to subvert it, but it's an uphill battle, and Linkedin already exists... so why bother.
