ClearSkyImaging

A view of the Malvern Hills from Clee Hill village in South Shropshire. The mist in the valley, coupled with the inversion in the distance gives an effect that looks a little like an island in the sea. It's some 33km from the vantage point to the hills in the distance.

The tops of distant hills seen across a valley shrouded in thin mist. A cloud inversion in the distance just in front of the hills gives the impression of waves breaking on a distant island in the sea. A pale blue, almost cloudless winter sky above.

@uk_csi That’s a great view from up there. The other week I took this (iPhone). The air was so clear above the clouds you could see The Skirrid on the horizon and on the other side, Cadre Idris.

Could see the tops in Wales yesterday, but difficult to take photos as the sun was so bright/low
