@Lino_JR @tinygirl @DavidGoldfield I thought it was but I haven't used it since long about the advent of Windows 7 when it hosed some Microsoft Framework stuff and made a mess. That's when I left it and got Openbook.
@robini71 @Lino_JR@chrisduffley.com @DavidGoldfield I use k1000 version 12 on occasion for reading my print mail, since I still find the flat bed scanner a bit more stable than the phone.
@tinygirl @robini71 @Lino_JR I can see it for reading mail. I actually started scanning a book that I can't find anywhere in an accessible format, so OCR packages do still have their uses. And there's something to be said for direct OCR to your own computer that doesn't go to the cloud for processing.
@DavidGoldfield @tinygirl @Lino_JR I always had thoughts of scanning in hard to find books but always found that it took more patience than even I possess and i'm a patient soul. It was also difficult for me to keep track of whether or not a page had already been scanned or was waiting to yet be scanned so eventually I gave up on that idea. But I bless others who still do it and submit to Bookshare and the like.
