@GottaLaff

Basically this amounts to a hostile takeover of the RNC...
And hammers home the final nail in the coffin of the republican party..
They are now full fledged MagaParty... the GOP is officially dead.
Trump will be able to launder party donations directly to his pockets and no funds will be released to those running for office without a full loyalty pledge to trump.

I’m beginning to wonder if tRump is NOT dumb as a rock.

@WatchLover679

He's a mobster and thinks like a mobster... he's stupid, but not dumb, devious... Mary trump has a bit to say on that subject.

@GottaLaff

@tdwllms1 @GottaLaff

And even with a loyalty pledge, there's still no guarantee he'll give them what he pledges, or what they need. He stiffs everybody.

@RuamiGrey @tdwllms1 His loyalty pledges have always and will always be a one way proposition.

He is loyal only to himself.

@tdwllms1 @GottaLaff If there are Non-MAGA Republicans left, they could maybe collectively resign from the House, so the Democrats can replace the speaker?

@tdwllms1 @GottaLaff I know it’s scary to have Trump with so much control, but he has shown an inability to actually win elections. The same type of election deniers who lost in 2022 will be on the ballot top to bottom now. Some will definitely win but for the most part this means that the MAGA GOP will end up losing even more and Trump will bankrupt them on the way.

@tdwllms1 @GottaLaff @KatM

"Whither the Republican Party?" is SUCH an interesting question. Will they recover, somehow, once they get over their current pet rock fad? Like, in 10-20 years? Or will they fade into irrelevance like the American Nazi or Green party (good for throwing elections, though, I guess)? Or are we headed truly for ashes and rubble from which will arise new parties? Or is the democratic experiment itself coming to an end?

Maybe "interesting" isn't the best word choice.

@tarheel

All good questions... stagnant is where we don't want to be...this languishing is causing PTSD in all of us... so destined to move in a direction...no one know where though... I hope we can keep the great experiment going... this election will truly tell.

Pretty sure stagnation is not in the cards. For one, change is a constant. For two, demographics ARE changing, at least in terms of us becoming a majority-minority country.
