To relax I like to shove sharp tools into rapidly spinning chunks of wood to make bowls, pens, sawdust, and occasionally art. I made the mice in the profile banner on my lathe.

My midlife crisis was the discovery that I'm and the subsequent cascade of "oooh, that explains x from my childhood".

OK, that joke got no play online but the pharmacist at CVS said she was going to claim it as her own and make it a , so I feel somewhat vindicated.

Q: How does Iron Man make his bed?
A: With sheet metal.

I'm so excited! I just realized that when I wake up tomorrow, the clock in my truck will tell the correct time!

Working on the Honey-Do list most of the day so didn't have a lot of time to do fun stuff on the lathe. Did manage to make one mouse, though. Not sure what kind of wood this is but I dug it out of the cutoff bin at Woodcraft for a few bucks. It was dingy, beat-up, weathered and gray. After cutting, sanding and finishing the texture and grain came alive.

They stripped us digitally naked and justified it with relevant ads, so why do I not see relevant ads?

Here's a depressing thought: If you aren't seeing relevant ads then you aren't anybody's target market. But you are still digitally naked.

I am more about than or these days so here's a piece I'm rather pleased with. During turning the piece flew off the lathe and this is how it turned out after careful repairs.

It's getting harder to rotate my logs, I'm running out of log space, and these are too big to put into a cloud. It's getting to be use-it-or-lose-it time with my log archive.

Client: Why do we need to alert for expiring *vendor* certs?

Me: [Implements cert expiry alert]

Client: Holy crap! 2 vendor certs are expiring!

Me: It's been in the online report for months

Client: I don't read the report

Me: Hence the alerts.
