@sunnywillow@mstdn.socialAny BritBox fans out there? I subscribed recently and would love some recommendations for good series to watch. I have binged Seasons 1-4 of Shetland and have 5-7 to finish. Love this series!

@sunnywillow I'm a #BritBox watcher on #TV (in Canada but the service is almost the same in the USA.) I love #Shetland. I recommend #Vera, #Unforgotten and #Crime (although Crime is very bleak & includes child abuse & murder.) As well, I highly recommend #Sherwood even though it isn't a conventional murder mystery as you know "whodunnit". #LifeOnMars & #AshesToAshes are my favourite shows although they're aren't everyone's taste. (They have a science fiction/time travel element back to the 70s and 80s. As well some characters can be problematic for some people as there are misognistic, homophobic, racist and abelist statements made which are period correct). Although I don't agree with these statements (I'm a progressive left of centre person), I' remember comments like this (and worse) in the 70s and 80s. The modern day audience is represented by characters from more modern times (early 2000s) when these shows were made.

Thanks for the recommendations. I watched #KarenPirie recently and really liked it. I hope they will do another season.
@sunnywillow Yes, I agree #KarenPirie was really good. (I'm Scottish heritage & have a weakness for dramas set there.) Another of my favourite shows (older) is #Broadchurch although it's on PBS, not Brit Box as is #Endeavour (waiting for the last series 9 of it to air. It hasn't aired in the UK yet.)
