Don't get me wrong @stux , I really appreciate, that you host an instance (or multiple) for so many people. I just hope that people would spread to more instances one day, so not a handful people need to keep the Fediverse alive and struggle each month with server payments. 
@Lorker Indeed we should get a better donation system more build-in the service so it should be a lot easier for people and admins ofc!

Another theory would be, that people are just not used to the idea, that multiple servers are able to communicate to each other. They see an instance for "art" or "nature loving people" and then they join those instances, while those instances already struggle to keep like 30k users.
Just saying 
My server could easily handle 50 more people but no body wants to join 
@stux Your ⁂fedi-serverpark keeps it fun for us single-user hosts as well!
