@ezra woahh! Daily Show? Looking at the bg
@stux close! last week tonight
@ezra aaah almost!
@stux @ezra "Last week tonight" is a weekly show (as the name implies)
Highly recommend! There's an official Youtube channel and an unofficial Peertube mirror https://tube.fede.re/videos/watch/bd393b61-b19d-4681-a7df-6a7977ae4b32
@ScriptFanix@maly.io @stux@mstdn.social @ezra@wetdry.world I don't really recommend Last Week Tonight as your accurate source of news but if you view as television meant for entertainment it is decent I guess.
@SuperDicq @stux @ezra If it is your single source of information, you're in trouble. If you have other, reliable sources of informations, and you want to spend 30 minutes a week laughing at John Oliver's jokes on debilitatingly bad news, then LWT is highly recommended.
Overall, having a single source of information is always a bad idea.
@ScriptFanix@maly.io @stux@mstdn.social @ezra@wetdry.world I never said single source, I said accurate.
Having a single source is always bad indeed.
@SuperDicq @stux @ScriptFanix @ezra I'll digress but this remark inspired me to write that in everyday conversations I often notice that people return what I've just said as they envision and not what I factually said. I ignore if this 'attention deficit' is a psychological or an ego issue and if it results from overuse of digital tools in contemporary culture.
Rum to note it also takes place in written communication.
That said, I don't believe that anyone is having a single source of information nowadays, more of an information overflow (probably with bias by choice of most consulted sources); a bit like in an RSS reader.
I ranted enough now.
Have a nice week.
@AppleAmps@seafoam.space I don't consider Tucker Carlson responsible for the shift of all of global politics lol lmao
