@mister914 @stux I have alternated between taxis and Lyft for trips home from the airport. >80% of the taxis have canceled the ride then wanted payment outside the taxi booking/payment ecosystem either in cash, Venmo or their own separate Stripe accounts.
I'd rather not deal with it so now the only time I'll use taxis is if I have enough luggage that it's a problem getting through the airport (annoying O'Hare airport policies). If I wanted an unlicensed fly by night cab I'd arrange for one of those.
