So it seems that #Firefox went ahead and just re-enabled these terrible settings
That's 1 strike for the fox.. One more and it's out
Maybe i should build my own browser and not made of Chromium crap (no offense)
@stux looks like 3 strikes to me
@stux oh dear, that's bad behaviour . Was it an update that reenabled it?
@stux don't do it
@stux At this point Firefox is on life support until something changes. I'm truly sorry that this has happened to Firefox. They are up against huge odds.
@stux you would call it meow meow browser, right?
@stux weird, i just updated and that box was not re-checked for me.
@stux i am switching to https://zen-browser.app/ its open source and basedoin Firefox with tones of bice features. (Vertical tabs, compact mode, split browsing)
@stux You need to go down the jwz rabbit hole... start here: https://mastodon.social/@jwz/113246768350299784
This guy is the one that created the XWindows screen saver, and he did work on browsers at one point. (Netscape) It's worth the read
@stux ok, I'm underplaying the netscape connection.
@stux I gave up on Firefox long ago as I think it unsafe.
@stux Oh good, so you can disable this.
I noticed this recently too, I guess it got enabled on the latest Firefox update.
@stux Where do you see this? Because I don't...
And which version is it?
And where are you going to migrate? Yet another chrome-base browser?
@stux https://gitlab.gnome.org/world/navigator is a really great option, but no web extension support as of yet. If not you can go for zen, floorp, or librewolf
@QuadRadical @stux
LibreWolf is nice. WaterFox is my personal fav tho.
I've been told this is a good starting point to have a crack at contributing to UX/UI for a Servo based browser:
https://github.com/versotile-org/verso-panel
@betalars @collectifission @stux @servo Isn't it quite insecure?
@hackillu Servo? Probably, is still pre-alpha.
