In 1926, Gladys Ingle saved stunt pilot Art Goebel by replacing a tire that fell off his plane during a stunt

@stux
Americas Got Talent ...Beat that shit...You can't!

@stux they had so many portable video cameras in 1926

@stux damn...

(Also what is the music)

@stux This is the "Fixing Bugs in Production" Example I need to archive!

@stux
What's the name of that guy from the movies ..... Tom, Tom, ... Tom Cruise.
Sorry mate, not even close.

@Pausanias @stux
Jein. War tatsächlich getan, aber war geplant, kein Zufall, und Teil der Show.

Mindestens, so versteh ich es...

@stux Pretty sure that was a stunt itself.

@pwoodford Yup! Wingwalkers they where called I believe!

They even have a video of them playing tennis or something on the wings

@stux @pwoodford @phranck gives a whole new meaning to debugging in production 😲🤩

@stux and i can’t believe we have such good footage of that feat, incredible 🤯 .

@tshirtman

I believe the shots from a third plane showing her transferring from plane to plane, and the shot of her changing the tire were actual footage of the event as it unfolded.

Other shots, like her strapping on the tire on the ground, were most likely shot later and edited into the actual footage of the event.

@stux

@stux pffft we do this in software every day.

Wing snaps off, strap on a new one while in free-fall, etc.

@stux I totally would have dropped the wheel…. You know, after I fell off the plane as soon as it took off. Wow, that is one hell of a badass!

@stux
What a badass! I would love to see a movie about her life. #WomensHistory
