Rumors are tearing this place apart out here about secret deals with #Meta. The latest is that Meta has held #NDA meetings with some of you and they will federate with large instances under contracts providing financial support (1) (2).
This is a time for leadership, not silence. Please, what's going on?

I put quite some work in to pay for it all
@mastodonmigration Unforth that's all become a LOT harder(paying for the whole bunch) with all rumours and made up stories going around..
So in this case the opposite is happening
@stux You are the best of us Stux! You were out in front of this from the beginning and took a lot of undeserved heat because you were willing to communicate. That's an unfortunate byproduct of leadership. Your instance is a masterpiece, and you are always open and engaged with the community. So sorry it has been so difficult, but realize that the vast majority here are huge fans of yours. It doesn't get said enough, what you do is incredible and we are enormously grateful!
@stux And the best way to show support for Stux and your other instance operators, in this time when we should be fortifying them to take on whatever is coming our way, is to support them financially.

Stux i’m bit curious why would a mastodon/activity pup admin would pick Patreon a 10% cut. Compared to Stripe/Square arrogated merchant accounts 2.9% + 30 cents per transactio. @stux
