WIth Reddit self-destructing, many have been wondering about alternatives on the Fediverse.

I do NOT recommend Lemmy. I have serious long-standing deep concerns about the developers, see here: mstdn.social/@feditips/1068350

As far as I know, nothing has changed since then and Lemmy's issues remain.

Alternatively there's Kbin (kbin.social & kbin.pub) which seems less problematic. Regarding cryptocurrency issue: codeberg.org/fediverse/fedipar

@feditips Ohhh didn't know about Kbin! 😮 interesting!

Also.... FIRST time i visit the site and boom :blobcatgiggle: i freaking love the fediverse

Did you have to create a separate account on kbin or were you able to do it thru your mastodon server? /me noob

@jebba @feditips It is still in early dev but you can always try but going to a post (on that instance) copy and paste the link (URL) into the Masto search bar 💪

Looks really good! I like how the threads are really clear to see. Also the Magazines bit is very tempting!

But, I don't quite get how I can follow anything there from here. It works with URLs, not @-addresses, except for following people... that should work. But not finding threads and such, I suspect.

Also - they don't seem by far as addicted to hashtags as we are!
