I am working hard to make it more stable. I'd rather not upgrade the server yet since the costs will increase by almost 50%.. 
Normally it's a lot smoother

I guess it’s really hard with the amount of users You have, but maybe you can consider switching to some lightweight server instead of Mastodon? Mastodon seems to be really heavy on resources
