Next to as replacement for we also have a ton of other free open source services without ads and tracking! - as Instagram - as YouTube - as WhatsApp - as Facebook

Most of these services connect with each other! For example, you can follow me also on:

That's called the or Federated Universe :fediverse:

Oh :blobcatgiggle: and some other non-Fedi related stuff I also host without costs or ads! ("Private" Habbo server, yes I know... Source code here: ) - a dumb little social network for pets - My awesome company that started here and helps paying for it all 💪 ♥️ - Lemmy! A free open source Reddit alternative! - A project with @JonathanMBR and @kranfahrer to gets kids to school! 💪 - A webshop my gf and me recently started, fabulous!)

And prob some more... :thinktink: :blobcatgiggle: Maybe something can help you, who knows :cat_hug_triangle:

@stux @JonathanMBR @kranfahrer the lonqest h ever hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh g bad Using some of these services in parallel, I however really recommend not to suggest too many different services at once. There unfortunately are _considerable_ incompatibilities in their different implementations and understandings of protocols and communication, and bad experience is much more likely to drive users away than to actually spark enthusiasm. 😐 @io misskey... facebook? i am maybe a little bit curious about why you think this?

@evelyn Well, it has groups, pages, etc etc! :blobcatgiggle:

Within Fedi terms it comes the closest to Facebook I guess! 💪 (for ppl from mainstream) 😉 hm I guess? but my experience is that very few people I know, myself included, actually make much use of such features, since we mostly talk to non-misskey users on mastodon and pleroma. Perhaps I'm just guided too much by my perspective here, though!

@evelyn I know what you mean!♥️👌🏻 Same here haha! I only use it more for comparison for ppl not from the Fedi, hopefully a clever way to get them over 😇 tbh I still use them cause it gets translated to anlike anyways.. but I don't use likes too much in general. I like to reply more hehe ah yea, I use emoji reacts, but there's a lot of misskey-specific features i don't use @io

So I've created a misskey identity, and, uhm, there seems to be a lot of kittens over there.

Ideas to what I should be doing next on Misskey? Are there native Android apps for misskey?

@cmyrland @io :blobcatgiggle: there are indeed!

For Misskey there is at least one iOS app I think but I don't know about Android 🤔 The PWA (web-app) works also quite nice though! probably SubwayTooter, MarinDiver 🤔 or something else. Most of misskey user would use the web instead as its compatible PWA app i think. @io I've been loosely following Redecentralize, who seem to be maintaining a curated list of resources. I'm not sure what their criteria are, but seems useful. @io Yikes, looking back on that one they do seem rather #crypto obsessed. Oh, well.
