Think I want the Pro, but in the smaller size of the standard 8. Last year I got the Sony Xperia 1 IV but never switched to it because sw felt unfinished and macro photo wasn't better than on my old Huawei P20 pro that I still am using.
@dtelder I wish you could get the pro cameras on the smaller phones. And this year's Pixel cases are very tacky so they stick to your pockets a lot, making them even harder to get in and out.
Last year's iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max had the same cameras, but this year, only the Pro Max gets the 5x telephoto.

I went to the store today and compared macro photo quality between Pixel 8 Pro and Apple 14(or 15) Pro Max. Both had impressive resolution. Apple won because it seems to zoom in more and it did not over-process the photo.
I guess Google AI is not trained on photos of e-paper price-tags. :)
