Need some #HomeNetworking help: I connected my #Unifi UDM Pro to a USW-24-PoE switch using a SFP+ DAC (purchased from UniFi), but it’s… just not working. No error or anything. What might I be doing wrong?
Never mind, I figured it out. I had to manually set the link speed to 1 Gbps in the port config of the UDM Pro (the switch doesn’t support SFP+ and so is limited to 1 Gbps). Somehow “auto-negotiation” — which is the default config — wasn’t working 
And once it started working, the entire network went down — all access points, switches, and cameras 
I forgot to disconnect old patch cable which was connecting these two, and apparently created a loop 
Rebooting the switch after removing the patch cable restored normalcy. Luckily for me, everyone else at home was busy in “real-life” activities, so nobody noticed.
