Hey, fediverse!
I'm obsessed with reading. Especially wlw books. I'm super introverted, maybe too introverted.

I was on another instance, but I was never active. I hope to be more active here. πŸ˜…

"It is time we found you a prince to marry," the king said.
"Dad," said the princess.
"Or princess, yes. Now, should we hold a masked ball, or ask that a monster is slain?"
"Dad."
"I know you swing both ways, either is fine."
"Dad."
"What?"
"There are more than two options."

The knight bestowed a kiss so tender upon the princess' hand that her heart melted instantly, wishing those lips upon her own.

"Fight well," she gasped.

The knight lifted her head, giving the princess a soft and knowing smile, "For you, I will give my all, if you want it."

"The window of my... heart... is open to you," the princess disclosed with a blush.

The knight did not win the tournament but thankfully she was a very good climber...

They sat together in the pouring rain.

Water bounced from the scales of the woman's tail, dripping from her elaborate fins.

The other crossed their legs and tipped their ashen face up to the sky.

'It's nice to see you in the day,' said the woman. She wove a strand of seaweed into the other's hair.

'It's nice to see you on the surface.'

They leaned their head on the woman's scaly shoulder and enjoyed their stolen moment for as long as the rain would last.

The sailor insisted, "No, I assure you, I have the largest and most powerful wife."

The other drinkers at the table laughed, surely the gnome married to the giantess was the clear winner in this discussion.

"I'll have you know," the sailor continued as she rose and stumbled to the window, gazing out to the water lovingly, "That I am happily married to the sea."

She waved, and the ocean waved back.

Reactions to this revelation were mixed.

Every sunset, upon the rock most west of the beach, the piper played for an audience of one.

The mermaid would surface near the old wreck, improvising a song or simply harmonizing. Her voice echoed more than she realized and her skin shimmered in the twilight.

She was not at all as stealthy as she thought.

But the piper never let on that she knew - what if the mermaid was scared away, or dragged her under?

This was fine, for now.

"The witch won't make me a love potion," the young woman said. "Will you teach me to fence?"
The swordmaster considered this.
"Will you challenge a rival, or the one whose heart you desire?"
"She says she will only marry one who can best her."
"Oh," the swordmaster said. "Her."

The Bee-keeper made candles, which she sold along with honey at the Market.

A young prince came by her stall one day. He spoke candidly and with respect. She treated him like any other good customer.

The next day she received an invitation to the castle, horse and all. After much thought, she accepted.

The prince greeted her with joy, introducing her to his mother, the long widowed queen.

The queen and bee-keeper married the next spring.

"How long can I borrow this book?"
"It will return after four weeks," the librarian said.
"What, by itself?"
"Look at the Ex Libris stamp."
"Is that a magic sigil?"
"It will return to where it should be."
"Do all books return?"
"Not all. We assume they have another place to be."

The princess gasped, almost swallowing water as the mermaid wrapped her lovely arms around her.

"Let's get you to land and out of those wet clothes."

The princess accepted the offer, despite what she knew of the merfolk and their tendency to drown sailors... after all, by all accounts she was not a sailor.

Still, she was relieved to reach the island and dry off, as suggested, bereft of her damp dress.

The mermaid proved to be kind, if motivated by lust.

The princess was fine with this.

The princess considered her options; remain on the ship to be delivered to a King she'd never met but who had a reputation for cruelty and corruption... or plunge into the ocean.

She was a strong swimmer, perhaps she could make it to one of the islands they had sailed past...?

It's worth the risk, she decided.

But she had never swam so far before, finding herself exhausted far sooner than expected.

"You poor thing," a voice purred.

#USPol / #TexasPol

ok, so i heard Matthew McConaughey was thinking about running as the governor of Texas... which is interesting i guess. :blobcatgooglyshrug: i tried finding out his political views, but there's no info on it. :thinktink:

of course, i'd prefer a lefty (maybe he is one? doubt it tho) but i gotta keep expectations low here.

and at this point, i'm like "yeah, sure, fuck it." if he makes it to the general, i'd vote anyone less corrupt than Greg Abbott which is like everyone.
