@rysiek honestly, from what I understand about the 2017 version of Mastodon, this is a pretty solid take.
Mastodon has matured a LOT since then. The federation clearly tripped him up quite a bit, but I took a lot of the article as constructive criticism at worst.
Either way, it's come very far. I still hate "toots", though. That's one of the single worst things about this platform. Can we just come up with a different name???

It was quite laughable, and one thing I gained from it is next time I see a tech article written by Lance Ulanoff I'll know in advance it's going to be a crop of shit.

The fact that they've officially been called "posts" for years now, and we still call them "toots" is all the demonstration I need that "toots" is the vastly superior name.

It's not and hasn't been for years.
It's a term some of us here use and find cute, but there is nothing stoping you from calling them whatever you wish. A lot of people call them, simply, "posts".

The one thing he mentioned there that I find a major issue with #MastodonWebUI, that one he didn't state as an issue: "It looks and feels like Twitter." :-P
