Replied to you from my Known blog yesterday but I can't see your website displaying my webmention to you..
@rmdes I see it now: https://lopeztel.xyz/2020/03/02/into-the-fediverse/
should be able to follow yourself from your Mastodon account or any ActivityPub enabled piece of code.
You'll see that the profile display the number of articles this author published on the WP side.. only future post your write, after having followed your WP user are going to come as toots.. (that may change in the future of the ActivityPub plug-in I read somewhere) but for now it's a good way to test if your new posts are visible for followers on the @lopeztel - 2/3
@rmdes Still haven't gotten that far
You'll want to add Yarn Micropub plug-in to have both Pub and Sub working, feel free to ask for help when you're at that point!
@rmdes cool, thanks for the testing, just yesterday I managed to create a proper h-card and hide it away in the theme's code
That's one way to do it.. You also have a WP widget for that.. But perhaps you don't want the H-Card visible at all?
Are you hosting at home or a rented VPS somewhere?
That's okay, you could try something, contacting your ISP, document your setup, explain what are your intentions and how you plan to use port 25 for outgoing email and ask them to lift the block.. This way you could use your own mail server without being blocked by your ISP... I'm also wondering if by using a VPN you couldn't bypass the port 25 block = meaning your server would bypass ISP limitation by having his own tunnel to the - 1/2
@rmdes yeah, thanks for the help, I'm on the support forum and chat (right now), the problem has been narrowed down to my router (TP-Link MR400)
You could install WP SMTP plug-in so you could better control the port number used by WP to send emails..
Anyway you're doing great!
