The serried hedges of ancient enclosures to the fore; beyond the large squared fields and hilltop #woodland stands of Parliamentary enclosure. The view reminded me of this #poem:
‘Glory be to God for dappled things –
For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow; …
Landscape plotted and pieced – fold, fallow, and plough;
And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.’
Gerard Manley Hopkins, ‘Pied Beauty’
