I am just back from an awesome #hackathon at the #cloudfest

We had three days to work on Federated (#WordPress) Events, you can find our results on that lovely page: fedivents.blog/

Thanks especially to @linos for his awesome work with the Event Bridge: wordpress.org/plugins/event-br

...and to @heiglandreas for pitching and leading the project!

@johnonolan the team came up with the puppies without any knowledge of your newsletter, so this must be really a thing!

@pfefferle @linos @heiglandreas @johnonolan thinking about installing wordpress but I don't know if wp is still the good one or it's just not,
I'm blind so that kinda complicates stuff.
and also the wp drama. IDK what to think.

@pfefferle @linos @heiglandreas @johnonolan hey, biasses are ok, if you would ask me for a programming language you would get a biassed response too, because I found a programming language that I just find satisfying to use, so lmfaooo!

@pfefferle @linos @heiglandreas @johnonolan but if you give advice you help to set up :t_blink:

@patricus @linos @heiglandreas @johnonolan so for me it is mostly about for how long I am using WordPress already. I think I know it best and it is fairly easy for me to change things through plugins or themes. I have no idea how accessible it is these days, but we are always willing to improve our plugins to be as accessible as possible. so feedback is always very welcome :)

@pfefferle @linos @heiglandreas @johnonolan if you say so I'm installing wp, also, will wp have problems if I would have custom APIs in php? I have a download API for my projects and I don't want to screw it up by installing wp.

@patricus @linos @heiglandreas @johnonolan I don't think so... most WordPress files in the root are prefixed with `wp-*` except `index.php` and `xmlrpc.php`.

@pfefferle @patricus

And in the end, you could also use your webserver (apache/nginx) to redirect , which I would recommend. Rather than putting files into the WordPress root where they might be confusing.

@patricus @pfefferle And your choice! I'd just recommend to keep both resources for setup and maintenance in mind; which might vary in both scenarious.
