But it's particularly telling that #Ultraman and #WH40K both had a 2 5-issue mini-series that dropped in like 2020/2021 and then nothing announced further from either property since. These licenses couldn't have been cheap and it feels like @Marvel@twitter.com squandered opportunities. 8/8

Maybe Ultraman would have benefitted from the old @Marvel@twitter.com licensing approach of being worked in to the Marvel-616 continuity, like Conan gt with Avengers: No Road Home and Savage Avemgers pretty much immediately after The House of Ideas picked up that license. 7/?

While I haven't readuch of the Conan run, and pretty much none of the Star Wars stuff, it feels like @Marvel@twitter.com's licensed properties lack the punch and intrigue they had when licensed work was done in the 70s/80s. Star Wars sells itself, but Ultraman doesn't. 6/?

The Sisters of Battle series I'm catching up on and so far its okay, and makes me want to read more. But both the #WH40K series coulda done with pushing tye comic part of the art, there's not enough of the energy there could have been on display. 5/?

The first mini-series, focusing on Marneus Calgar, could have had a bit more Space Marine action in it bit was a satisfying #originalcharacters story, and didn't feel as uneventful as #Ultraman. It probably could have been 4 issues instead if 5. 4/?

And s9me absolutely atrocious lettering choices that made se bits near illegible. So badly did they file #Ultraman that I didn't pick up the second miniseries, as I expected @Marvel@twitter.com would d9 the same too little story across too many issues.

#Warhammer40000 fared better. 3/?

The first issue of the #Ultraman series @Marvel@twitter.com launched had its best content, a back-up Ultra Q story w/ art + pacing that exceeded everything else in that run. Also huge editorial oversights f9r the setting (cars on wrong side of road, steering wheels on wrong side etc.) 2/?

.@Marvel@twitter.com could have had something awesome on their hands woth the licenses for both #WH40K and #Ultraman that they acquired. Regrettably they fumbled hard on Ultraman, delivering 5 issues that should have been 3 and telling little story, in the first mini-series 1/?
