For those who wonder why the counter-offensive isn't going 'fast enough' and think this is a videogame. This is how densely mined the area's in the Zaporizhzia region are.
@noelreports scary shit
@noelreports if one goes off will it make surrounding land mines explode as well?
@virtualinanity @noelreports if one easily triggered the others a densely laid minefield would be worthless, so lots of fuzes have been made to resist that from a long time
The AT ones u see can have various fuze types, some r resistant, the smaller ones with the cross+disc shaped plate on top r AP plastic nasties & tend to be blast insensitive
in that thing several could be chain-connected by pull fuzes or boobytrapped by standard/improvised methods, which extra devices could be more sensitive
@Edizionilazio @virtualinanity @noelreports I saw a video where RPG hand grenade placed under the tank mine in a manner that if you just lift the AT, RPG goes off so demining is not so simple process.
@anthroposamu @virtualinanity @noelreports the manners of placing mines to make more difficult the removal, or where flat out the main target is the EOD guy, are several
They go from standard antihandling devices to all manners of boobytrap and trickery, plus fuze are of many types and can work in very different ways
The soviets always been big on mines and had some very good training on that, and if placing it is an actual EOD guy then nasty surprises are guaranteed
@noelreports those are emplaced by hand?
