If the Home widget can show up to four buttons at once in the small size in iOS 17, why shouldn't the Shortcuts one do the same?

@viticci@mastodon.macstories.net Because you already paid for the product and now Apply can draw you into their next non-upgrade for a thousand bucks by selling you this amazing revolutionary feature of having 4 small buttons for shortcuts.

And you'll fall for it again.

@tyil This is very stupid. Sorry but that's so hyperbolic I don't even see the truth. I've had my iPhone 12 since it came out and am still supported on software features. My phone before that was the iPhone 7. Not a whole lot besides hardware, that I missed out on those years that I didn't upgrade.

@richaesthetic@mastodon.social
I understand that this is very difficult for you. Let me condense my post in a more easily digestible format.

Apple fanboys will swallow anything Apple does and defend it
Then, to sum up your response...
"Noooo!!! They won't ever do that!"
Goes on to explain how he's just another Apple fanboy that will defend bad practices and will purchase the next Apple device without question
Typical.

@richaesthetic@mastodon.social To shed some light on reality, my previous phone was 10 years old and if something in the UI bothered me, I could install any other shell or phone distro to change it, without issue, next to no technical skill required.

Compare that to any Apple device, really. Always an overpriced hellscape, unless you don't value freedom or independence.

@tyil @richaesthetic some people just value their time.
What good is a feature that allows me to change the UI if I like the UI?
Not everyone has the same priorities and calling other people stupid for not caring about your preferences is idiotic

I am sadly aware that many people will brush off any issues they don't care about in this way. What it leads to is increasingly worse products for everyone. It's a very short-sighted and egotistical means of looking at the world.

Except this thread started about complaining about the UI. I find the ability to customize it quite relevant to that.
calling other people stupid
I agree, not sure why you're targeting that remark at me, though, I didn't call anyone stupid.

@tyil @richaesthetic „i understand that this is difficult for you“ = you’re too stupid
