It's cold out there today, so you'll have to settle for a low quality photo of Mount Rainier through the windows of a ferry. It's more impressive in person.

@msw i couldn’t live out there, the ferry service is just too lacking from what i hear

@ariadne the system had a low point during the pandemic, and recovery has been slow. Historically I've found service to be highly reliable, but we had a lot of unscheduled cancelations due to crew shortages and the like. For the Bainbridge Island route, things are a lot better now. But the improvement is unevenly distributed.

@msw So this photo totally inspired a pen and ink work!

This is a pen and ink sketch of the photo in the post it is replying to. It is a view of Mount Rainer from the inside of a ferry. The sky is a very soft pink, and the mountain is shades of pink, violet, and indigo. The immediate foreground is a purplish black.
