Do you want to follow someone who makes really interesting posts, but you don't want to see their boosts?
You can mute people's boosts on Mastodon without muting their ordinary posts.
Log in through the website, go to a person's profile, click "..." and select "hide boosts from".
(To show boosts, do the same thing but select "show boosts".)
This only works for people you follow.
«The surprising benefits of fingers that wrinkle in water
The skin on our fingertips and toes shrivels like prunes when soaked for a few minutes in water. But is this an adaptation that occurred to help us in our evolutionary past? And what can it reveal about your health today?»
Our project is funded by people like you, and we need about $130 USD for an Apple developer account and Google Play Store account to publish the Live app (and eventually the main app!)
Will you help us reach that goal? The preferred donation method is our PayPal, https://paypal.me/dansup but you can also donate via https://www.patreon.com/dansup or https://liberapay.com/pixelfed
Boosts appreciated, and thank you for supporting us ❤️ #pixelfed #communityFunded

And to clarify, “Christian” to me is a label that often doesn’t reflect the heart, character or cause of Christ.
So I am in no way conflating people who are committed to following Christ with those who inflict the violence of white supremacy on humanity.

White [male, heterosexual, Christian] Supremacy is a dangerous, destructive ideology.
It will dismantle democracy to get its way.

The Supreme Court overturned Roe, 50 years of precedent, with a 6-3 hard-right majority which includes 5 justices appointed by GOP presidents who lost the popular vote, 2 credibly accused of sexual misconduct, & 1 in a totally stolen seat.
No wonder there’s a legitimacy crisis.

Progress rarely happens in a straight line. It typically unfolds in loops.
Day by day, it can feel like you’re spinning your wheels. If you look back on your trajectory over months or years, you can see forward movement.
Major growth is the result of many seemingly minor turns.

It's refreshing to see reporting that is this forthright about what's happening in the courts.

A few nice technologies & physical look/feel aside, I don't understand why #Apple products are so popular.... It's EASY to do a very limited set of things, but anything past that is SO DIFFICULT.

There’s honestly very little in Apple’s modern UX design that isn’t the least worst solution. Check the overlapping layers of information/hierarchy below, then realise that the top layer scrolls. There are no affordances — you *have* to scrub for info — it’s mystery meat nav.

@jamesdrandall@twitter.com I think there was a honeymoon phase where folks started to panic about the relevancy of #dotnet, so the business folks backed off a bit and let devs try to steer #dotnet back to importance.
With growing popularity, business folks are like… “we’ll take it from here.”
If you REALLY want cringe, hit the resume tab, that's where it gets real bad. I took my resume independent site (https://marc.ochsner.me) & just crammed it in my blog site "temporarily", until I could legitimately migrate it. #BadDesign
One time a few months ago I *started* (didn't finish) working on a new menu (in prod) on my website. Things got real busy, and I haven't been able to do any web development since, but I think I should qualify for an ugliest website award or something -> https://mochsner.github.io

I enjoy being a small part of the wonderful FOSS community, believe decentralized systems are the most resistant to abuse, and I work mostly with C#, Python, and web technologies. Strive to make the world a better place through software, but I'll settle for hoping I just don't make the world worse.
I do my best to be empathetic online (and in person). If I fail, please let me know so I can learn & do better.
