A little personal post I should propably pin:
Don't sent me any links/invites to #centralized, #SingleVendor / #SingleProvider #Chat or whatever sites/services.
I WILL IGNORE THEM!
If you want to contact me, you'll find all the info you want on my profile.
To protect against #Spam, all #unencrypted messages/eMails get automatically filtered as junk on server-side.
If you want a reply, add your #Pubkey to those.
Thanks for your attention!
@kkarhan how does this approach work in practice?
@kkarhan I believe that, but whom you keep out is only one side of the story, the other is who will still (want to) get in.
@hllizi It's 2023 and @thunderbird has #PGP/MIME built in.
There's no excuse for having #unencrypted #eMails except (catering to) lazyness (of others) to properly configure their setup.
@kkarhan @thunderbird I am aware of that, but also of the fact that almost nobody I know actually uses encryption. Their reasons are not for me to judge, I can only say that, were I to move to an encrypted-only approach to Email, I could just do away with Email altogether. Also wouldn't be the worst idea, maybe.
@hllizi @thunderbird Again: It's so trivial I could give #TechIlliterates a rundown on how to setup that shit in like 5 mins like 15 years ago and back then you'd had to configire basically everything by hand.
Whereas nowadays it's even simpler...
In fact, I encourage you to teach others by doing a #CryptoParty...

@kkarhan How do I encrypt my email?
@eatyourglory use a good eMail client like @thunderbird that makes it trivial or consider some easy-to-use tools like #enc to do so manually.
Pretty shure @cryptoparty and other #CryptoParty accounts still have slides and #documentation available.
I'm currently on the go, so I have none of those available...
@kkarhan @thunderbird @cryptoparty Is Thunderbird available on iOS?
@eatyourglory no, but that's due to #Apple and them being shitty to devs.
There are #OpenPGP / #PGP/MIME implementations for #iOS tho...
@eatyourglory @kkarhan @cryptoparty We begin development on an iOS version this year.
@thunderbird @kkarhan @cryptoparty Will it have support for encryption?
@eatyourglory @thunderbird @cryptoparty That's a aseriously good question, because unless #Thunderbird has #FeatureParity on #mobile and #desktop, #ThunderbirdMobile will be a #downgrade.
And Inot talking aboit the #calendar but #PGP/MIME #encryption as well!
