Only IF each instance holds firm against the big boys. There are still forum boards around, but they don't dominate our interactions like they used to once fb opened up to everyone. No platform lasts forever. The fediverse is at a critical point I think. If they sell out, game over.

@Puck I think it feels like a betrayal and I sincerely hope @stux and others will rethink their option.
If not, then he might just also sell 
to #Azure, #AWS or #GCP and retire with the €€€€€€ made from that and not claim in announcement that ue cares aboit #privacy.
Because #NSAbook knowingly and willingly rats out users to regimes that KOS them for "living while trans"...
