@kkarhan@mstdn.social@estelle4565 @wbm312 the point is that most #spammers from the #USA will just simply blacklist .de domains, but I use a "new" #gTLD and apparently they are too lazy to check the MX records for my provider, otherwise they'd realize their mistakes.

And I'm pretty convinced who it is by a near-guaranteed certainty.
I'm just not certain enough to say that noone else was it.
But right now the number of culprits that could've illegally sold my eMail to 3rd parties is less than the digits on the average human hand.

Interesting that you get spam from the US. I also live in Germany and other than the usual scam e-mails (I get 1-2 per month), I do not get any spam from the US. I wonder why.
But I use ad and tracking blockers and have not seen an ad on the web in a decade or so. Not sure if that is at all relevant.
If you do go through with it, please keep us in the loop. It will be interesting and educational.
