CTV: Tesla removed from Vancouver Auto Show
"...“The Vancouver International Auto Show has removed Tesla as a participant in this week’s event, after the automaker was provided multiple opportunities to voluntarily withdraw,” said Eric Nicholl, the show’s executive director, in a statement.
“The Vancouver Auto Show’s primary concern is the safety of attendees, exhibitors, and staff. This decision will ensure all attendees can be solely focused on enjoying the many positive elements of the event.”.."

Take a lesson Canada, be proactive, lean in. Ban Tesla is new exciting ways.

This is very interesting:
There’s been a couple of anti-Tesla protests locally. And a few more are planned
But still pretty low key: “standing outside the dealership”
For them to remove #Tesla from a major event like that is a sign they’re taking the #TeslaTakedown actions very seriously
Or #BC #Canada may be looking for its own ways to apply pressure against Trump’s aggressive policies
Targeting #Tesla is a team sport

Feels more like they're throwing shade (Tesla and its CEO are the danger, and attendees can enjoy a nazi free event) while using the protests as plausible deniability-esque cover.
@exador23 @AccordionBruce @ai6yr
Yes. Sounds right.
I laughed warmly at "given every opportunity to withdraw voluntarily"
"Call them again, give them a new chance."
@AccordionBruce @kevinrns @ai6yr
I suspect this is more standard corporate ass-covering.
They don't want any protests or protesters, regardless of whether they're peaceful or not. Protests make the exhibition look bad, and that makes all exhibitors look bad.
Kicking Tesla out to forestall protests would just seem an obvious business decision. Boring, but predictable.
@cazabon @AccordionBruce @kevinrns But, works anyway!
@cazabon @AccordionBruce @kevinrns @ai6yr that means the protests are working!
