I opened Mastodon, wanted to check out any notifications.

Instead I ended up scrolling through a bunch of sweet cat pics :3

So, you've joined Fosstodon and are wondering, "now, how does this work?"

One thing that sets Fosstodon apart from traditional social media outlets (and some other instances) is the community's willingness to help and offer valuable feedback. This is especially true with new members.

Please don't hesitate to raise a hand (toot) and ask questions. If you prefer some reading material, @kev has written a great article to help you get started:

PSA: If you are using Nextcloud Deck, you should *not* update to the just published version 1.9.1 but wait for the next release 1.9.2.

v1.9.1 will break things:

Man I've used Mastodon for a few days now and I learned to use it pretty quickly. I used Twitter for years and didn't learn to use it, bruh

I would had gone to the fanart Instance but I also want to post my original art... oh well if I can't find a suitable Instance for me then I'll use this like Twitter and keep posting my art on Ig :D

What kinds of Toots can I post here on this Instance (msdtn.social)? Can I post for ex. art? Or do I have to post something specific?

Hey guys, if I make a mistake here (say I post things that belong on another Instance or anything like that), can you please tell me and help me out? I don't want that you erase my posts/ban me here without telling me how to fix my manners... :'D and I also feel very lost xD

I'm karin_artss, you also might encounter me on Instagram (with the exactly same user name). I'm a bit of everything cool: a nerd, a (fan) artist, a gamer, a person who makes mistakes and who is always hungry... anyway I just wanted to check out what Mastodon is.
I'm new here, don't know a lot of things, I wasn't sure which Instance to join etc. so feel free to help me out! :'D
Anyway, it's awesome to meet you guys!
Toot! πŸ‘‰πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘‰
