Trying out desktop for . Went through Mast, Mastonaut and Whalebird. Now Mona in testing. So far feels the most promising of these, tho Whalebird wasn’t bad either.

But even basic functionality like boosts are behind paywall in Mona.

Mona feels the most ”Mac-like” of these, and the UI is the most polished. A bit like Toot! for desktop.

There’s also a ton of customization features. Probably I’m gonna use 10% of them, as usual…

Okokok, there’s ”quote post” in Mona, although Mastodon doesn’t really support such a feature (yet). Works well on Mona all right… But if you go check out how it displays on the web UI of Mastodon, for example, you realise it’s mostly useless. It just shows the link to the quoted toot.

Quite hard to figure out what’s ”quoted” there, unless you spell it out.. which kinda make ”quoting” pointless.
