(No registration needed, choose any amount, all currencies work)

Alternatively, become a patron at:

➡️ liberapay.com/FediThing

Thank you! ❤️

@feditips Feedback from an American who has not donated outside of our common payment processors: this link is confusing and so I did not complete a donation transaction. Aren’t there others that allow a choice of currency or define the currency being used and explain how the transfer is handled?

@Onlineadviser

You put the donation amount in euros and your card company will automatically convert it no matter what currency you use.

It's the same conversion process used if you order something from an overseas website.

1 euro is 1.07 dollars at time of writing this.

If you prefer, you can make a donation through the Liberapay link where it explicitly offers a choice of currencies (liberapay.com/FediThing). You can stop it recurring straight away, effectively a one-off payment.

LiberapayFediThing's profile - LiberapaySince 2020, I've been trying to help people use the Fediverse, and encourage the Fedi to grow, through five accounts and five websites:

@Onlineadviser

p.s. Sorry to hear it was confusing, thank you for attempting the donation and thank you for the feedback. 🙏 Very grateful.

@Onlineadviser@c.im @feditips@mstdn.social Welcome to the rest of the world. As a world we often have to use US Dollar experiences rather than our own currency and don't recognise the payment processor.

It's good to be cautious though. I see what you mean -- when you're on Ko-Fi there's no suggestion on who (Bank) is processing the fee. Although there is a Google Pay options. Ko-Fi is cool, I have donated on it many times.

It's great to support individuals and recognise their good work.
