Filters are a good way to customise your timeline on here. They let you automatically CW or completely hide posts with certain words, phrases or hashtags.

To create a filter on Mastodon:
1. Log in through your server's website (some apps also let you create filters)
2. Click ⚙️ Preferences > Filters (on mobile click ⚙️, then ☰, then Filters)
3. Click Add New Filter
4. Choose your settings, then click Save New Filter

@feditips tusky has an option to filter out a hashtag directly by clicking on the hashtag and I wsh masto had it too.

@timkrief

Thank you! 😅

Obviously my spelling filter wasn't working.

@gsymon @Bluabirdo

Well done to ClearlyClaire yet again! 👏

And thanks Bluabirdo for the update!

@feditips You don't get this kind of customization on other feeds. Especially the expiration feature. That's a great addition.

@feditips

On the web interface, you can follow a hashtag if you click on it and then click an icon in the next picture.

BUT you can not filter it by clicking on an icon! And THAT sucks!

Please #Mastodon !!!! Add a filter icon next to the follow icon!

@MaryPot

The filters aren't specifically for hashtags, they're for words which may or may not be in hashtags.

They would have to build a separate hashtag system to have a filter icon next to hashtag follow icons.

@feditips

I have mostly #hashtags in my filter list. Things like # wordle etc. What would be so difficult to add a "button" to click that will add it to my account's default filter list?
